Joan Mary Lewis (nee stones)
died 6th november 1999 aged 70
she had worked at BICC for about 30 years before she retired. One of her first jobs when leaving school was working in the picture house in leigh were she had many a fun tail to tell.
Joan had one younger brother Stewart and four nieces and nephews, but her life was devoted to her only son Steven his wife Lynn, her granddaughter Nicola and her great grandson Jordan who she doted on.
Joan died on the 6th November 1999, she had lost her battle against the cruel disease dementia .
Joan was a very loving, funny caring person, who worked hard all her life, to support her son, who she raised single handed. Family was the most important thing to her and she loved being involved in everything that entailed. Joan was my nan and i miss her very much, my son calls her twinkling nan and that is what she is a beautiful twinkling star shining down looking over us.

hya hun just thought id pop in for a chat. well today its freezing and snow on the ground,our jordan was playing rugby at b/pool sat but it was cancelled due to the bad weather,but they had fun all the same,our nicola is doing good she keeps trying to learn me to do a little better on me laptop, and our billy well he has been a gem helping also .any way i shall pop in again for a chat. godbless to you love you lynn xxx

It seems like only Yesterday that we were having one of our usual good old chin-wags in Leigh Town Centre about everything and everyone (Laugh!!) instead of cracking on with our shopping, You were and always will be one of the most caring and nicest Women that anyone could ever wish to know and the most wonderful & understanding Person on this planet.
You were not only a wonderfully devoted Mother to Steve, My Sister Lynn, Grand-Daughter Nicola and Great-Grandson Jordan, You were also a very Dear Friend to so many other people and especially to Me.

hi nan hope it is sunny up there in heaven, well nan i am off to Poland next friday with Gaynor we are going for five days to visit all the historical sites it should be fun and a little sad at the same time but i am really looking forward to it.
